Club logo for the Hartford Obedience Training Club.

Founded as a branch of the Nutmeg Dog Club in 1937 the Hartford Obedience Training Club (HOTC) is the oldest continuously operating dog training club in the country. Our goal is to teach people how to train their dog(s) for companionship and competition. Teaching obedience skills makes each dog a better companion and creates a bond between owner and dog to last a lifetime.

We welcome all dogs to join our training services. The training techniques used by our instructors employ American Kennel Club (AKC) routines. If you desire, you may enter AKC matches and/or trials. AKC Obedience, Rally and Agility competitions are open to all dogs including mixed breeds. The United Kennel Club also offers titles at their shows held throughout the year for both purebreds and mixed breeds.

Located in West Hartford, CT we are proud of our history. We offer a variety of pet and competition training classes on Thursday evenings at 454 Oakwood Ave in West Hartford, CT, the building is on the corner, adjacent to the Connecticut Veterinary Center.
